ABOUT STEPHANIE JONES
I am a wedding photojournalist.
I hold my BA in Fine Arts, and refer to myself as an artist and wedding photojournalist. I capture real moments as things are happening. I will not interrupt emotional moments, but instead capture them, creating works of art. Although I do take the traditional group/family portraits, I do my best to make sure they are casually posed so your actual personality comes across in the images.
I am not a salesman.
I will not pressure you in any way to book if you feel we are not a good match. I also sell my products at cost with no markups. You are hiring me for my artistic abilities. The digital proofs are given to you in high resolution so you can order on your own, or through me. I do not attempt to make any profit on products available.
I am affordable.
My pricing is less than most because I have less overhead. I have a home studio, which dismisses the cost of renting office space. Although a 2nd shooter can be added, I often work alone. I do my own processing and album design instead of outsourcing my work to others, therefore eliminating the costs of paying others to do my work.
I am the main shooter.
Unlike other photography studios with multiple photographers, when you book with me, you know you are getting me. I will not send other photographers out to do my job. I am the owner of my business and insist on being the contact you will have throughout your photography planning and event. In addition, I am the one who will process your images, and design your album. I do not outsource this important work to unknown, online companies as many other photographers do.
I am unobtrusive.
While some photography companies have teams of 2-3 photographers, I work alone unless you decide you would like a 2nd shooter. I feel too many cameras moving around really distracts from your day and tends to interrupt what is really happening. I prefer to stay back and zoom in. Over and over, my couples tell me that they didn’t even know I was there, yet was successful in capturing every moment.
I never get behind on my work.
I only take 4-5 events per month. By doing this, I can ensure that my clients get the proper dedication they deserve. In addition, my turn around time is always ahead of schedule and I do not get behind on my work.
I use high-end equipment with backups.
The camera I use is a Canon 1DXMarkiii. This camera is known for its ability to take the highest quality images in low light conditions, such as a wedding reception or church (where flash may not be allowed.) I only use Canon’s L series lenses, which use ultra low dispersion UD glass, super low dispersion glass, fluorite elements, and aspherical elements for the highest quality image.
